Magnificent and ultra rare Art Deco Modernist writing table or dining room table. Design by architect Caspers. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Solid oak base with original oak veneered top. Two extensions of 40 cm or 15.75 in. In very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco writing table or dining room table by architect Caspers is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright as you can see in the design of this piece of furniture! The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
