Fabulous Early Legras vase in red cased over opaque white Vase with stylised Chinoiserie patterns including bell like Lotus flowers and buds. It comes from a series produced initially for the 1889 Paris Exhibition (The famous Exhibition -where the Eifel Tower was built) -and the series is documented in the main Legras book p62 (Michel & Vitrat) it shows the same decoration on a number of different shaped vases (most like this example are unsigned). This series was highly praised at the Exposition and received great reviews at the time
Legras at this time were the most important of the Paris based glass makers.
