William Knox was a renowned artist who painted in and around Venice for many years and produced some of the finest views of Venice by a British artist since J M W. Turner a century earlier. He was able to capture the unique light of Venice to create extremely atmospheric paintings. He also painted many oriental scenes. His views of Venice are highly sought after.
